Business Development Executive

The Role

This is a pure new business sales position focused on identifying, engaging, and converting new customers.

You'll be responsible for building a strong pipeline of opportunities, developing relationships with decision-makers, and helping drive revenue growth across a range of sectors and markets.

Working closely with internal teams including Marketing, Operations, Customer Support, and Finance, you'll play a key role in supporting the company's continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify and generate new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and lead generation activities.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Engage with prospective customers to understand their needs and challenges.
  • Deliver consultative sales presentations and tailored solutions.
  • Convert opportunities into long-term customers.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and pricing agreements.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets and activity KPIs.

Pipeline & Sales Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all activity within the CRM system.
  • Track pipeline performance and manage opportunities through the sales process.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and performance reports.
  • Analyse sales activity and identify opportunities for improvement.

Training & Development

  • Complete a structured onboarding programme covering all key business functions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of products, applications, and customer requirements.
  • Continuously build technical and commercial knowledge to enhance sales performance.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing to support lead generation campaigns and market engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Customer Support teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
  • Contribute to wider sales initiatives and business growth projects.

About You

We're looking for an ambitious, proactive individual who enjoys the challenge of winning new business and developing long-term commercial relationships.

You'll ideally have:

  • At least 3 years' experience within a professional working environment, including direct sales experience.
  • A proven track record of generating and converting new business opportunities.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence engaging with decision-makers and presenting solutions.
  • A highly motivated, target-driven approach.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to learn technical product information and communicate value effectively.
  • A resilient mindset and the determination to succeed in a new business environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous B2B sales experience.
  • Experience selling into commercial or industrial sectors.
  • Exposure to marketing activities or lead generation campaigns.
  • Degree or equivalent professional experience.
