MOC Chairperson
A respected and growing personal insolvency specialist is looking for an experienced MOC Chairperson to join their team. This is a key role within the business, responsible for chairing Meetings of Creditors (MOCs) for Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs), ensuring meetings are conducted efficiently, fairly, and in line with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
The Role
As MOC Chairperson, you will act as the independent chair for creditor meetings, providing clarity and guidance to creditors on IVA proposals. You will facilitate discussions, manage the voting process, and report outcomes accurately. In addition, you will provide independent oversight and support to the insolvency team, ensuring all processes adhere to the Insolvency Act, IVA Protocol, and other relevant legislation. You will also play a key role in maintaining the reputation and credibility of the business by ensuring all meetings are conducted professionally, transparently, and impartially.
This role offers a flexible working arrangement, allowing you to manage your diary around scheduled MOCs, and provides the opportunity to contribute to a growing and reputable organisation within the personal insolvency sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Chair Meetings of Creditors for IVA proposals and variations.
- Explain IVA proposals clearly and impartially to creditors.
- Facilitate voting, record outcomes, and report results accurately.
- Ensure all meetings comply with the Insolvency Act, IVA Protocol, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and oversight to the insolvency team where required.
- Handle creditor queries professionally and diplomatically.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of governance, compliance, and client outcomes.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience chairing Meetings of Creditors or similar statutory meetings.
- Strong knowledge of Individual Voluntary Arrangements and personal insolvency procedures.
- Sound understanding of the Insolvency Act, IVA Protocol, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, impartial, and confident in managing challenging questions or discussions.
- Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance, and client care.
