Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Surrey - Competitive salary

Full time, however 4 days per week will be considered

We are recruiting for a Speech and Language Therapist, we are open to hearing from SaLT's who are the equivalent of Band 5 up to mid Band 6

This opportunity is at a Specialist Educational Trust committed to providing a tailored curriculum for dyslexic students aged 7–16. Our ambition is to be a centre of excellence, focusing on the academic success and personal development of every child.

The Role

The Speech and Language Therapist is responsible to the Head of Therapies and will work as a specialist providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice for our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice for students aged 7–16 years.
  • Deliver 1:1 sessions and lead small groups focusing on speech and language needs.
  • Identify speech and communication difficulties.
  • Provide training (formal and informal) to staff, carers, and parents.
  • Liaise and work with teaching staff, support staff, and other health professionals.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil progress and write confidential reports, including annual review reports and Individualised Learning Plans (ILPs)
  • Adhere to legal requirements regarding the Speech and Language Therapy Service and Child Protection procedure

Requirements and Specifications

  • Must be a member of a professional body and hold relevant registration.
  • Required to maintain professional indemnity insurance.
  • Must hold a satisfactory DBS check.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and observing good practice in relation to health and safety and safeguarding.
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible “can do” approach.
  • Required to adhere to all school policies and procedures
