Purchase Ledger Assistant

We are proud to be partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit a diligent and enthusiastic Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their busy finance team in Brighton.

The Role

Working as part of the finance team, you will support the smooth running of the purchase ledger function and ensure supplier accounts are accurately maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining supplier accounts within the accounting system
  • Stamping, coding, and inputting approved purchase invoices
  • Three-way matching invoices to purchase orders, goods/services received, and freelance timesheets
  • Obtaining internal authorisation for invoices outside the standard workflow
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Processing staff expense claims
  • Assisting with payment runs and emailing remittance advices
  • Opening and distributing finance post when office-based
  • Supporting colleagues within the finance team as required

About You

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with:

  • Previous experience working within a busy finance team
  • Strong IT skills, including good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Confident communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt in a changing environment

This role would suit someone reliable, organised, and eager to contribute positively within a supportive finance function.

Hours

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
8:30am to 4:30pm (30-minute unpaid lunch)

Location

Hybrid working model – 3 days per week in the Brighton head office and 2 days working from home.
