Sales Ledger Clerk
We are a specialist recruitment agency partnering with a well-established organisation to appoint a proactive and organised Finance Assistant to join their Sales Ledger team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous finance team experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing client accounts and ensuring accuracy across invoicing and accounts receivable processes.
The Role
As Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for raising sales invoices and credit notes, issuing client statements, and managing multi-invoicing for large clients with multiple divisions. You will ensure that invoicing aligns accurately with contractual agreements, working closely with internal teams and account managers to maintain smooth workflows.
You will also act as the key Finance contact for allocated clients, managing queries, investigating “on-account” payments, addressing suspended accounts, and supporting the wider Finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise sales invoices, credit notes and issue statements
- Manage multi-invoicing for large clients with multiple divisions
- Ensure invoices are raised in line with contractual terms
- Liaise with internal teams and account managers to support efficient processes
- Investigate and resolve “on-account” payments
- Act as the Finance point of contact for allocated clients
- Respond to Accounts Receivable queries and resolve issues
- Process invoices and update balances within the accounting system
- Assist the wider Finance team when required
About You
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who brings:
- Previous experience within a finance or accounts team
- Familiarity with finance systems such as Sage
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Confidence working through aged debt or backlogs
- Strong communication skills and a professional client-facing manner
- The ability to adapt in a dynamic and evolving environment
