Finance Manager
Greys Specialist Recruitment are working on behalf of a fast-growing, award-winning events and media business to recruit a Finance Manager to join their expanding finance team.
This is a newly created role within a highly successful organisation delivering a diverse portfolio of consumer and B2B events, alongside digital and publishing brands. You’ll gain exposure to senior leadership and play a key role in driving financial performance and supporting ongoing business growth.
The Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and Finance Director, you will take ownership of the core finance function, managing a small team while remaining hands-on in day-to-day financial operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a small finance team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Taking full ownership of Group Management Accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across divisions
- Preparing financial reports for the B2B division and reviewing outputs for the consumer side
- Partnering with sales, marketing, and operational teams to provide meaningful financial insights to non-finance stakeholders
- Reviewing and approving weekly and monthly payment runs
- Managing VAT returns and HMRC compliance, liaising with external advisors where required
- Preparing statutory accounts for multiple entities
- Supporting the year-end audit process and liaising with external auditors
- Delivering detailed financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
- Driving cost control initiatives and improving overall financial performance
- Reviewing and improving systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency
About You
- ACA / ACCA qualified
- Experience managing or supervising a team, either in practice (audit or similar) or within industry
- Comfortable in a hands-on role within a small, collaborative team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Advanced Excel skills (essential)
- Experience with SAGE 200 (desirable)
- A proactive mindset with the ability to drive improvements and influence change
