Case Study
300+ CVs in 3 weeks. Team effort = IMPACT
Situation
In 2023 a major UK employer took their occupational health department in-house; after tendering and presentation process, Greys was awarded sole recruiter for the project to recruit 48 OHAs & OH Techs across the UK. We quickly grew relationships with the hiring community, learning about their hiring process and what they expect from each application.
Greys Solution
We had to create an impact across 24 locations in the UK simultaneously. We used our entire team, and to attract candidates. To gain as much exposure as we could we used branded and unbranded job adverts (sponsored), our tech team made a client-specific microsite, video messages to our internal talent pools and CRM system, client branded advertising on social media (OH community). We had just over 550 applications/expression on interest. The team then spoke with all the occupational health advisors and occupational health technicians to go through the job details and expectations. We had over 250 rejections/applications withdrawn, both our team and the candidates recognising that the job was not right for them at this time.
Submitted just over 300 CVs including cover sheets, right to represent and an overview from our consultant saying why we thought they were suited to the role. All CVs were sent location specific, and all sent on the same day.
Over the next 3 weeks we had 266 interview requests, over 12 weeks we helped the client arrange all first interviews, helped prepare all of the OHAs and OH Techs for their interviews, gain their feedback and send them the hiring points, arrange final interviews, help the OHAs and OH Techs prepare for the interviews, gain their feedback and find out if they would like the job. The client made 54 offers, 51 accepted, 3 were declined because the OHA’s and OH Techs had decided to other roles. The client made further offers to second placed candidates. 54 offers accepted. Our compliance team worked with the client’s onboarding team to ensure all compliance sent over and recorded. We stayed in contact with the OHAs and OH Techs during their notice periods and the client to ensure the onboarding went well. All 54 started within 4 weeks of each other.
During this period, we were given more management roles to recruit for which we did successfully. Both Greys and the client attended an occupational health networking event, and they informed us of another management role we needed to recruit for, which they needed quickly. During the event we identified a fantastic manager and introduced them at the event they interviewed and offered the person that day.
Update
Since the initial bulk recruitment project has finished, Greys continue to be the sole recruiter for them and have ensured all their occupational health recruitment needs are met. Their team has grown considerably, and the occupational health function is going from strength to strength.
